Experiments in Mixed Media

This semester I shook things up a little bit by taking a mixed media art class. We had four major projects due over the course of the semester, and I've just recently gotten around to taking some pictures of them. So, now I'm going to share them with you! Here are the first three which were done for the themes "place," "identity," and "body." I'll upload images of my final project once I have a chance to photograph it.
Enjoy!

- Untitled -
wire, tulle, clay, burlap, rocks, and felt fiber

- The Wanderer -
(or: How an Insomniac Considers the Stars)
ink, water color, wire, and book art

 - Femme Fatale -
papier mache, ink, water color, tulle, lace

Two things:
1. all of the flowers painted on this are poisonous.
2. This corset can be worn though I wouldn't recommend it if you're the sort of person who enjoys being comfortable and/or able to move.

That's all, Folks!

Landscapes

. . .

I'm sorry for the recent silence. I know it's been an unacceptably long time since I've updated.
I have a small mountain of new work to share with you (including some mixed media projects that are a bit out of the norm for me) and I look forward to finally having a chance to put them up here. I'm not sure how long it will be before that actually happens. In the meantime, here is a small series of self-portraits to tide you over (maybe).
I'll be back as soon as I can with more images and words for anyone who wants them.
Love to you all.

Final Project From Outer Space

For my final photo project this semester, I got in contact with people all over the country using Skype and together we set up long distance, impromptu photo sessions. It was an interesting experience to work with a model who was not in the same room as I was and there were new and unexpected limitations to the situation that I had to work around.

Thank you to everyone who participated!
You are all wonderful.
